I started running winter track my junior year. I mainly did it to get in shape for the upcoming tennis season, but having friends on the team was also influential. I'll admit, I'm definitely not a very good runner; nevertheless, I did improve over the course of the season. I ran the 1000m, 500m, 300m, and 4x100m relay. I actually helped place in districts for the 4x100m relay to advance to regionals. I enjoyed the company of the track team that I continued with track by running it in the spring, despite being on the tennis team. I wasn't able to make it too many meets due to tennis conflicts, but in those that I did make it to, I ran the 400m. My fastest time was 1:03. That isn't record shattering, or anywhere near it, but it was definitely a surprise to everyone, including myself. I'll most likely be continuing winter track come senior year.
