To start it off, my name is Kyle Edward Powers. I was born to Gregory Don Powers and Agnes Mercado Powers on October 12th, 1990 in San Antonio, Texas.

After approximately two years in San Antonio, my father was restationed to Alamogordo, New Mexico. I formed some of my first memories there. We lived in a small house right across from a playground.

A little before I turned six, we moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was there where I first started elementary school and my hockey career. I attended Hubert H. Humphrey Elementary School from kindergarten through 3rd grade. I started playing roller hockey in a small league. After four seasons of playing for The Mighty Ducks, I started playing ice hockey for the Ice Breakers. Once my father retired from the Air Force, he started to work at Intel. Later on, my mother started working for Intel as well.

A few months before I turned ten, my father was transferred to Massachusetts.  We lived in a little house in Marlboro. This was the town in which I started 4th grade at Bigelow Elementary School and started playing for the Triboro ice hockey team.

After a series of unfortunate events, we ended up moving to Northborough, Massachusetts. My parents both still worked at Intel and I started 5th grade at Peaslee Elementary School. During 5th grade, I played another year for Triboro. Once I got into Melican Middle School, I began playing for the Starhawks.

After finishing up middle school, my dad got a new job working at Qimonda in Virgina. So I moved down to Virginia with him before my freshman year. We first lived in Short Pump for a month until our house in Colonial Heights was ready, then moved into our new house at the beginning of August. My mother was still living in Massachusetts as she decided to keep her career at Intel.  I began school at Colonial Heights High School in September of 2005. With them having no ice hockey team, I had to give up a lifelong sport of mine. In early 2007, my mother had still not moved down and my parents got divorced.

I have garnered quite a few friends at Colonial Heights High School now. I'm in the top 5% of my class, participate in a plethora of school activities, run track, play tennis, and my parents couldn't be prouder. I have big hopes of attending a good university and becoming an engineer. I hope to some day have a career in which I get paid to do something I love. I hope to some day get married and have a family. And most importantly, I hope to some day watch my children become successful human beings, as they fully take advantage of every opportunity I, my spouse, and the world give them.
